About ‘Death’ – Love X Stereo [We Love We Leave, Part 2]
Working with world-renowned producer Adrian Hall, a completely new kind of electronic music is presented.
The single [Hide And Seek] of Love X Stereo released in October of last year appeared in the popular tvN drama ‘Cheese in the Trap’, and was designated as ‘the most mysterious and beautiful song’ among the OSTs, attracting public attention. The production of this new release of [Hide and Seek] dates back to the end of 2014, when the band was selected for the ‘Art Of Recording’ program hosted by KT&G Sangsangmadang, giving Korean indie artists a chance to work with a world renowned engineer/producer from UK.
Among the many applicants, the person who directly selected Love X Stereo was Adrian Hall who worked with Pet Shop Boys, Slipknot, Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode, etc. Adrian Hall participated as a co-producer and mixing engineer in the new album [We Love We Leave, Part 2]. It is said to have achieved unprecedented sound quality.
[We Love We Leave, Part 2] is the darkest and most intense of the results they have worked on so far. If [Part 1] released in 2015 was about ‘love’, this [Part 2] is about ‘parting and death’. During the preparation of this album, there were many incidents. The death of the late Shin Hae-chul, the young souls sacrificed in the Sewol Ferry, the late Kim Min-tae who was killed in Australia. And it is said that the band tried to capture the confused emotions felt in the music as the unfortunate events of people around them giving up their lives on their own were repeated.
As such, the album [We Love We Leave, Part 2] is filled with serious songs that contain their inner sadness, anger, and liberation. The dreamy guitar tone of Toby (guitar, bass, production), and the synthesizer arrangement of mysterious melodies, and the dynamic and appealing voice of Annie (vocal, synthesizer) leave a deep resonance in the chest, while providing a sound of “perfect” magic that seems to surround both ears.
The band name Love X Stereo has already been recognized as a representative of Korea at large overseas music festivals, and has appeared twice at the SXSW. This album has also prepared world-class perfection and music that has not been found in the Korean electronic music industry so far, and will spur domestic activities as well as continuous overseas activities.

Trying to express different genres of color in one album can sometimes be too much or as a crude result. It's really hard to have both the diversity and simplicity of the sound, but if there's a duo that can do this, it's Love X Stereo. In [We Love We Leave, Part 2], the duo shows the combination of alternative, synth-pop and electronic music in a concise, delicate, and simultaneous rockin' manner.
The electro rock duo's kaleidoscopic synth-pop anthems that caught the ears of music festival audiences across Asia and North America are something closer to EDM or other indie bands.
