Launched in 2011 by former skate punk rocker Toby Hwang and fugitive astrophysicist Annie Ko, Love X Stereo is a dazzling Seoul electro rock duo whose dreamy kaleidoscope of stellar synthpop anthems have enraptured music festival audiences across Asia, Europe, and North America. With the epic release of their double EP series ‘We Love We Leave’ in 2016, Love X Stereo headlined at SXSW’s perennially packed ‘K-Pop Night Out’ showcase, and nabbed a best electronic dance album of the year nomination at the 2017 Korean Music Awards. Accruing an electric array of artist spotlights and rave reviews in international media outlets such as BBC, Billboard Magazine, and MTV, the critically acclaimed band eschewed the traditional album template from 2017 to 2019 by adventurously embarking on an ambitious fan-funded project that spawned 37 experimental music video tracks as well as collaborated on original soundtracks for the smash hit Netflix Korea TV series ‘Love Alarm’ and award-winning indie short film ‘Zero One’. Recently featured in the global chart-topping Netflix USA TV series ‘XO, Kitty’ and tapped by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the ’10 Rising AAPI [Asian-American Pacific Islander] Artists You Need to Know’ in 2023, Love X Stereo (in collaboration with modernative SoCal songstress, DA1SY DØØM) dropped a trio of singles from their new EP entitled / 안녕 ÄNɎƏŊ / in Q2 2023.
The Seoul-based electro-rock duo Love X Stereo mix synthpop with alt rock and punk rock to create dreamy, immersive songs marked by ambient synths and Ko’s ethereal whispers.

— Page Six ‘Even the Korean Government Is at SXSW’
Everyone by now knows what K-pop is thanks to PSY, but the Korean music scene is far richer and more diverse than the stuff Park Jae-sang introduced to the world in 2012…When Pyeongchang County hosts the XXIII Winter Olympic Games in February, people will discover the massive wave of talent coming from Korea. One of those bands is Love X Stereo.
— The Revue ‘Love X Stereo – 37B (Album Review)’
[Love X Stereo] blew us away with their infectious electronic rock sound. Their sound is packed with spaced out synths, shimmering guitars, and dreamy female vocals.
— BitCandy ‘SXSW 2016 : Best Artists – Day 4’
Frontwoman Annie Ko possesses a girlish, fairytale whisper that lends itself to CHVRCHES comparisons. But while the Scottish band floats like an electronic butterfly, Love X Stereo stings like a rock ‘n’ roll bee.
— MTV Iggy ‘Love X Stereo = Delicious Electro Rock From Seoul’
Love X Stereo are quite frankly and criminally underrated considering the quality of music that they make…Out of 200 bands performing at Focus Wales 2017, many of whom were playing on their own turf and indeed bringing the home crowd, Love X Stereo successfully stood out as one of the most accomplished and articulate artists of the weekend.
— Metro UK ‘Artist of the Day : Love X Stereo’
Annie Ko’s cotton-candy voice is light and fluffy, the perfect match to Toby Hwang’s pastel fever dream production.
